Description

As the Communications Manager for RMHC Atlantic, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our communication strategies while providing dynamic leadership to the organization.

You will be responsible for ensuring the organization's messaging and image align with its mission and goals, while effectively engaging with stakeholders and the community.


Responsibilities

Communication Strategy:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that promote RMHC Atlantic's mission, values, and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure consistent messaging across various platforms, including digital, print, social media, and traditional media.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and best practices to refine communication approaches and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Drive the creation and distribution of compelling content, such as press releases, newsletters, articles, and multimedia materials.

Social Media Management

  • Oversee and manage RMHC Atlantic's social media presence, creating and curating engaging content that resonates with the target audience.
  • Develop and implement social media campaigns to promote events, initiatives, and fundraising efforts.
  • Oversee and mange the monitoring social media channels, respond to comments, and engage with followers to foster meaningful interactions.

Website Oversight

  • Ensure the RMHC Atlantic website is uptodate, userfriendly, and aligned with the organization's branding and communication goals.
  • Coordinate the creation, editing, and publishing of website content, including articles, blogs, and event announcements.

Media Relations

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with local and regional media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
  • Serve as the primary contact for media inquiries, coordinating responses and interviews as necessary.
  • Prepare key spokespersons for media engagements, ensuring consistent and effective communication.

Community Engagement

  • Establish and nurture relationships with community partners, sponsors, and stakeholders to enhance RMHC Atlantic's presence and collaboration opportunities.
  • Represent RMHC Atlantic at public events, conferences, and speaking engagements, promoting the organization's mission and initiatives.

Brand Management

  • Oversee the organization's brand identity, ensuring all communication materials adhere to established brand guidelines.
  • Monitor and manage online and offline reputation, addressing any issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner.

Editing And Creative Document Management

  • Review and edit various communication materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency in messaging.
  • Collaborate with design and creative teams to develop visually appealing and impactful documents, presentations, and marketing materials.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Additional certification and education in the communications field will be considered an asset
  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in communication management, preferably in the nonprofit or healthcare sector.
  • Strong understanding of communication strategies, digital platforms, and social media trends.
  • Experience using Adobe InDesign.
  • Experience using social media management tools and media tracking
  • Experience with web content writing/updating websites and graphic design
  • Ability to act autonomously, comfortably and consistently, exercise discretion, and show good judgement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for various audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management and development.
  • Proficiency in media relations and crisis communication.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • Knowledge of the Atlantic Canadian community landscape is an asset.

Salary Range:
$66,387- $78,103
