Job Description:

We are looking for 2 Project Coordinators to join our busy and diverse Planning practice in the
Hamilton Office. We currently have a large number of projects of various scales in multiple locations throughout the GTAH and Niagara.


Both positions are to backfill for up to 1 year for upcoming maternity leaves, with possibility for extension or permanent hire in future.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to planning and land development, including concept and plan preparation, file/project management, client/stakeholder liaison, and implementation.


Most of the Things You'll Work On:

  • Assisting senior staff on a variety of land development-related projects, including undertaking due diligence, planning, and development investigations
  • Preparing presentation materials and preparing site plans and various concept plans in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite or other related software
  • Meeting and interacting with clients and stakeholders, either out of the office or within an office setting
  • Undertaking research and compiling information on a variety of planning issues from multiple sources
  • Preparing and maintaining project tracking spreadsheets
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


You'll Need To Have

  • 4+ years' project experience focused on urban planning with a knowledge of the land development process related to ICI and residential projects
  • Excellent project management skills and a proven track record of executing land development approvals
  • Ability to work in a collaborative Team environment
  • Comfortable interacting with clients/stakeholders and their Teams as well as internal Team members
  • Ability to go to site and attend out of office meetings when necessary. This position will require you be be in the office a minimum of 2 to 3 times a week depending on the needs of the business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion and desire to be the best you can be
  • Strong software skills with handson experience using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office. Revit experience is desirable.
  • University Degree or College Diploma in urban and regional planning and/or GIS
  • PMP certification or enrolment in Project Management program a definite asset
  • Member of, or eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Certified Planning Technicians (CACPT) or Ontario Professional Planners Institute (RPP)
