This position will be located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario and will have flexibility based on our hybrid work model.


The Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing the necessary monthly close activities and reporting required for each facility, home or branch of Extendicare's business units.

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for account reconciliations, period end close activities, financial statement preparation, budgeting, management reporting, and government reporting activities for a portfolio of facilities.


Responsibilities:


  • Gather and review data in relation to the preparation of account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing entries for posting related reconciliations, write offs and adjustments
  • Gathers required data fields and compiles into standardized reports (i.e. bank rec reports)
  • Prepares home/facility/branch level financial statements
  • Perform financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, filing and recording accounts payable data
  • Completes required government and regulatory reporting, as directed
  • Collaborates, builds, and maintains relationships with BU operational staff
  • Monitors business performance metrics
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

  • Business Administration or Accounting program preferred
  • Experience in identifying, investigating, analyzing, and reporting variances
  • Excellent communication, organization, time management and multitasking skills
  • Customer Focused attitude, with an emphasis on building and maintaining relationships with clients
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel is required.
