    As a Global Commodity Manager (GCM) you will manage your supply base throughout the life-cycle of the products that Lumentum designs and sells. This role drives Strategic supply throughout your supply base, for both direct procurement by Lumentum and by our Electronic Manufacturing Services / Contract Manufacturing suppliers.

    You will own: The supplier relationships, Contracts, Pricing Agreements, Continuous cost reduction and cost reduction project management, Market Analysis, Supply Chain Continuity, Negotiations, Allocating supply allocations, Leading commodity strategies, driving Preferred Supplier Lists (PSLs) with cross functional teams and achieve the HOSHIN goals for your supply base.

    You will be recognized as the company expert as it applies to your suppliers and related markets. The senior GCM position is a focal point for Lumentum and is responsible for driving the adoption of commodity strategies into the engineering's design and/or manufacturing objectives.

    You are responsible for:

    • Driving cost and project managing cost reduction projects to take cost out of our supply chain.
    • Developing cost models and understanding cost drivers.
    • Being the recognized expert for global market information: long term supply, demand, capacity, price, market segments, competition, short and long-term market trends, and environmental and/or regulatory implications.
    • Developing complex, global and comprehensive supplier-buyer contractual relationships.
    • Developing negotiation strategies and driving negotiations to achieve HOSHIN goals and objectives.
    • Developing and documenting negotiation and contracting process consistent with commodity strategy.
    • Own communication for contract data across global teams.
    • Leverage supplier capabilities and business opportunities on a domestic and international basis.
    • Primary owner for the supplier relationship. With technology partners, and in accordance with the commodity strategy, drive supplier selection, development and overall supplier management.
    • Work with Strategic Technology Leaders and Supplier Quality Engineering to integrate Lumentum supplier performance requirements into all suppliers.
    • Develop commodity specific performance criteria and award/remove business in accordance with results.
    • Work with suppliers to drive improvement on all areas measured within the supplier scorecard.
    • Drive global supply base consolidation analysis, planning and implementation.
    • Lead supply base continuity.
    • Leverage your extensive knowledge of data analytics, excel and presentation skills to execute your job and provide executive ready communication quickly.

    Demonstrate systems and metrics knowledge:

    • Developing the Material Supply Agreements and/or other required legal documents
    • Leading and supporting the GCM community supplier negotiations as it applies to the MSA and other contractual activity
    • Developing complex, global and comprehensive supplier-buyer contractual relationships
    • Developing negotiation strategies and driving negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives.
    • Developing and documenting negotiation and contracting process consistent with commodity strategy.
    • Own communication for contract data and volumes across global teams and supply base as appropriate.
    • Work with Strategic Technology Leaders and Supplier Quality Engineering to integrate Lumentum supplier performance requirements into all suppliers
    • Lead and own supplier business reviews.
    • Exhibit a strong knowledge of contractual creation and implementation

    Required Qualifications:

    • Technical knowledge and expertise in creating, implementing, and monitoring contractual performance and agreements
    • Category Management or related experience in the technology sector
    • BS in Business or Engineering related field and demonstrated relevant working experience
    • Willing to Travel approximately up to 30%
    • Strong Microsoft tools skills (Excel, Powrpoint, Word)
    • 5+ years Global Commodity Management or related experience
    • Experience with ERP, MRP Systems
    • Technical knowledge and market expertise in Semiconductor Manufacturing or Components.
    • Knowledge and experience with analytical tools
    • Ability to communicate with senior management, internally and externally, for effective commodity strategy execution is highly preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • MBA or other advanced education
    • 10+ years Global Commodity Management or related experience
    • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
    • Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure, to achieve requested timing and quality of assigned tasks.
