    The Department of Radiology, McMaster University and the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Hamilton Health Sciences are seeking one to two academic pediatric radiologists to join the Pediatric Radiology Service located at McMaster University Medical Centre, McMaster Children's Hospital. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate's qualification and experience.

    The Department is seeking a candidate(s) interested in a full time dedicated pediatric imaging clinical position at McMaster Children's Hospital. The ideal applicant(s) will have completed a fellowship in pediatric radiology. Subspecialty training in MSK or Neuroradiology is considered an asset. The successful applicant will be scheduled for pediatric clinical work involving all diagnostic imaging modalities as well as clinical subspecialty and teaching rounds, appropriate for their areas of expertise. They will also participate in the on-call rotation for the department.

    As a full time faculty member within the Department of Radiology, successful candidates will promote clinical scholarship, have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship and will demonstrate excellence in clinical care, exhibit collegial, civil relations in all interactions. Collaboration with colleagues on improving pediatric imaging protocols, peer learning, quality assurance and training of technologists is expected. The McMaster residency program in diagnostic radiology is a highly rated training program in Canada. Pediatric radiologists in our department also teach and supervise residents in our accredited Neuroradiology residency program, as well as Pediatric radiology fellows. Participation in t ea c h i n g and supervision for our residency and subspecialty programs, as well as undergraduate programs is required, with a focus on expanding teaching and training in pediatric radiology.

    Applicants must be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Diagnostic Radiology and Pediatric Radiology (or equivalent) and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.

    McMaster Children's Hospital (MCH) is a pediatric academic health science centre serving the special and unique healthcare needs of children and youth using a family-centred model of care. MCH serves a community of 2.3 million people from south central Ontario and beyond and is home to 165 acute care beds and 10 day beds, 80 subspecialty clinics, a Children's Treatment Centre and one of the largest and most impressive Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Canada. Each year MCH has over 210,000 patient encounters in our subspecialty clinics, diagnostic areas, emergency department, inpatient wards and operating rooms. The volume and complexity of pediatric imaging work is constantly increasing. Our Pediatric Department is currently in the process of expanding, hiring 27 pediatricians over the next 3 years. We are recruiting a pediatric radiologist, in order to support the anticipated major increase in imaging demands.
