Reporting to the Admissions and Client Support Lead, the
Business Development & Client Support Intern will support the maintenance of our admissions and client support processes, as well as outreach for our new employer partners.

You'll have a direct impact on Venture for Canada's program offerings.

You'll do this by embracing our learning and development offerings through organizing, proactively communicating, and ensuring our systems are easy to follow.


This is role is part of VFC's commitment to fostering work-integrated learning for Canadian students, in addition to gaining valuable hands-on experience, interns will also receive 1x1 mentoring from our Director of People Operations and Finance, receive a curated set of learning materials, and participate in professional development groups to further advance skill development.

These skill development sessions will focus on relationship building, time management, objective based working styles, delegation, project planning and execution, working in small teams, and more

This is a contract position and employment is contingent on funding approval.


Please note, to be eligible for this position, you must:


  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,

have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations; and,
-
be 30 years of age or younger at the time of the internship.

Skills

  • Interested and invested in excellent customer success, including clear and succinct verbal and written communication, and rapid response times;
  • Passionate about prospecting for unique Canadian employer partners for our programs
  • Interested in sales, business development, and account management
  • Creativity, critical thinking, ability to 'think outside the box' with design recommendations;
  • Super organized and recognize that attention to detail can make a big difference;
  • Collaborative as well as independent;
  • Proven ability to embrace a digital environment and remote work and still contribute to culture;
  • Strong writing and editing skills. Specifically, storytelling, and copywriting;
  • Knowledge of inclusive admissions processes;
  • Ensure that proper documentation is captured, maintained, understood by and available to staff and/or partner organizations;
  • French is an asset;
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace/Gmail, HubSpot, Slack, Zoom are assets.

Role Responsibilities:


  • Lead the job board administration systems;
  • Prospect new employer partners
  • Conduct an internal review of all admissions and client support content with a lens of accessibility considerations;
  • Distill admissions research report in to clear action item reports;
  • Support client support team with job clinics, job board innovations, and partner employer relations;
  • Any other reasonable duties requested by VFC.
Venture for Canada is committed to providing equal pay for equal work with salaries in line with industry standards. Our weekly salary pay for this position is $665.

Other benefits include but are not limited to:

  • Office closure to extend the long weekend in August.
  • Flexible work hours.
  • From May long weekend to Labour Day weekend we offer Summer Hours.
