**The Opportunity
**This position sits in the Law, Compliance, Government (LCG) function (1,100+ employees across North America, Europe, and Asia) and will report to the Global Head of LCG Operations & Strategy, responsible for all aspects of LCG operations, strategy, and initiatives worldwide.
The LCG Global Operations & Strategy Team ('LCG Global Ops') is structured in Pillars of expertise and is seeking a seasoned, highly skilled professional to lead the People Enablement ('PE') Pillar and be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhances LCG Global Ops instrumental support in the following areas:
- Knowledge Management
- Communications & Change Management
- Professional Development
- Engagement & Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- Employee Experience
- PE Strategy, Reporting & Leadership
This is a
highly visible and collaborative position across LCG; the AVP will be a key and strategic teammate with cross-functional and global responsibilities.
While the first order of business will be to identify and implement "quick wins" to immediately support LCG users in an effective and efficient fashion, the AVP must have a
vision and be a
creative force in direct support of the Global Head of LCG Operations & Strategy as together they design the PE global short/mid/long-term strategy and deliver at the global level.
To that end, the AVP analyzes key priorities, brings insights to generate executive action that makes valuable contributions for LCG, identifies and prioritizes key areas of impact, develops plans of attack aligned with strategic objectives, pushes for change with senior leaders by partnering with them and influencing their direction and focus via the thoughtful analysis and presentation of current state, strengths/challenges, industry/market trends, and competitive research.
For this hybrid position, the employee will have to commute to one of the following locations on a weekly basis (2 days a week):
- Toronto, ON, Canada
- Waterloo, ON, Canada

Individual Contributor Responsibilities:
As an individual contributor, the AVP is personally accountable for successfully delivering on the following, with the hands-on support of the PE team and Ops colleagues, as relevant:
Knowledge Management Global Program
- Design, implement and continuously improve a Knowledge Management Global Program supported by relevant technology, including but not limited to:
_Internal KM:
_
- Structure knowledge globally to allow it to scale as the team grows or changes
- Guard against loss of valuable knowledge caused by employees' departures and role changes
- Standardize shared information to make it easier to find answers and standard methodologies through a userfriendly experience
- Identify current state and other needs, recommend (internal) solutions, project plan and lead the implementation of the selected one
- Maintain and continuously improve the global solution
_External KM:

- Support the globalization of the Information Services and Legal Research support
- Supervise Information Services and integrate within the KM Global Program
- Supervise Legal Research solution and integrate within the KM Global Program
- Supervise maintenance and continuous improvement of Information Services and Legal Research support
- Support the identification and centralization of external professional development opportunities globally
- Assist with the integration of the external professional development opportunities within the KM Global Program
- Develop and drive the Knowledge Management strategy in support of and in alignment with the Global Head of LCG Operations & Strategy vision
Communication & Change Management
- Annually update, complete, and continuously improve the LCG Communication Plan, in alignment with both LCG strategy and Manulife's Communicat
