Corporate Development, Applied Research and International (CDARI) is SAIT's face to industry.

The division centralizes and supports industry clients to develop customized non-credit corporate training for their employees and take their innovative product and process ideas to market locally, nationally and internationally.

Within CDARI sits a number of support functions including Business Operations, Continuing Education, International, Corporate Training, Applied Research, and Business Intelligence.

CDARI is hiring adjunct instructors to support upcoming international corporate training students for Libya NOC projects. Students will be taught at Sait. Hiring for two separate courses.

  • Technical English-Hydrocarbons Measurement-ENGL 007 May 1June 28th, 83pm, Monday to Friday
Teach students with written and verbal communication skills necessary to succeed in hydrocarbon measurement disciplines.


A few of the Course Learning Outcome(s):

  • Respond verbally to apologies, requests, regrets and excuses in a calm, controlled manner.
  • Express opinions, reasons, agreement, and disagreement.
  • Express a hydrocarbon set of instructions in verbal form.
  • Use reasons and consequences to relate a hydrocarbon sequence of events.
  • Take notes based on a hydrocarbon process.
  • Write a simple set of instructions for a hydrocarbon measurement procedure or process.
  • Solve moderately complex hydrocarbon problems (of a technical or nontechnical nature) through group discussion.
  • Legal Writing-LEGL 004 August 28Sept 15th, 83pm, Monday to Friday
Teach developing skills in legal research and explore the purpose and structure of legal argument.


Learning Outcomes:


Upon completion of this course, be able to:

  • Distinguish the types and sources of law in Canada.
  • Identify the purpose and structure of legal argument.
  • Identify the legislative stages for lawmaking.
  • Use techniques of legal reasoning and argument, such as case analysis and statutory interpretation, to analyze legal issues.
Role
Prepare and present lessons, lectures, assignments, quizzes, exams, lab activities and lab demonstrations for learners if applicable given the course outline
Maintain records for the purposes of grading, assessing professionalism and tracking attendance in both theory and lab classes if given the course outline
Manage the classroom or lab to ensure a positive learning environment
Show personal interest in the learner and create a climate conducive to optimal learning
Provide on-going support, guidance and advice to students
Attend all SAIT training as required
Achievement of School initiatives and Objectives
Be an active and engaged member of the School
Adhere to all safety legislation, guidelines and safety standards as required
Maintain contact with relevant industry sectors
All other duties as required for the position


Qualifications:


Required:

Demonstrable track record of instructional excellence
3-5 years of experience in Business and Employment Law, EAL Programs in Canada or corporate training
Experience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Experience with videoconferencing technology (MS Teams, WebX, Skype or Zoom)
Fluent in English reading and vocabulary
Comfortable speaking to the public
Positive & respectful attitude
Ability to read, interpret and deliver specific curriculum
Excellent communication skills
Ability to organize and present written information


Desired:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, Law or related field
Preference to background in Adult Education
Experience with a Learning Management System (Brightspace or Moodle is an asset)
Training and knowledge of adult learning fundamentals
Formal training or education in facilitation or teaching
Formal training in online technologies
