THE OPPORTUNITY


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated
IT Manager to join our rapidly expanding education company based in Toronto, ON.

As an IT Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the company's IT infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of our technology systems.

This is a hands-on technical role that requires expertise in various technologies, including Office 365 support, networking, troubleshooting, equipment procurement, inventory management, and vendor management.


POSITION PURPOSE


The role of Information Technology IT Manager USA and Canada is to ensure an excellent internal and external customer experience, through optimal design and performance of IDP CANADA IT systems and operations.


The role leads the implementation of IDP Global IT policies, procedures, and best practices across the region and participates in the global IT community contributing to continuous improvement for IDP.


The role includes provision of technical expertise and guidance and act as on-site Canada and USA IT support contact on the operations and maintenance of all aspects of the technology landscape for the region, including operations, networking, projects, support, disaster recovery, security and Global standards.


RESPONSIBILITIES

1.


Technical Expertise:


  • Provide technical support and expertise in Office 365, including troubleshooting issues and assisting endusers.
  • Manage and troubleshoot networking technologies, such as DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP, ensuring optimal network performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, both internal and external, to maintain uninterrupted operations.
  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends and recommend appropriate solutions to improve the company's IT infrastructure.

Equipment Procurement and Inventory Management:


  • Oversee the purchasing of IT equipment and software based on the company's needs and budget.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and peripherals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast future equipment requirements and plan for procurement accordingly.

Vendor Management:


  • Collaborate with internal business units to gather IT requirements and provide guidance on vendor selection.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to obtain the best terms and pricing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring effective communication and timely delivery of services.

Support and Troubleshooting:


  • Provide handson support to endusers, resolving ITrelated issues and addressing user queries promptly.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems, escalating complex issues to appropriate teams when necessary.
  • Develop and implement proactive measures to identify and mitigate potential IT problems before they impact operations.

Collaboration and Communication:


  • Collaborate with the global service desk team to ensure seamless support for USA and Canada.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to IT processes, procedures, and user manuals.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 7+ Years experience working in an IT Infrastructure related position
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Indepth knowledge of Office 365, networking technologies (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP), and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong technical expertise in hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Experience in purchasing IT equipment and managing inventory.
  • Excellent vendor management skills, including negotiation and contract management.
