Niagara Children's Centre is recognized throughout the Niagara Region as the provider of rehabilitation and support services to over 5,800 children and youth with physical, developmental and communicative delays and disabilities each year. Core services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language services, augmentative and alternative communication, family services and therapeutic recreation. Our family centred programs aim at helping each child achieve their own unique potential within their home, school and in the community.

What will you be doing?
The Early Childhood Education Resource Consultant at Niagara Children's Centre:

  • Supports community EarlyON programs to provide inclusive, early learning and social opportunities for identified children by liaising with parents, early childhood educators and other professionals.
  • Works collaboratively with families, educators, supportive personnel and therapists to develop an Individualized Support Plan that is strength based and reflects the families' priorities and preferences to promote one coordinated plan for a seamless experience for families
  • Provides coaching, role modeling, and mentorship to EarlyON staff and families in an early learning environment
  • Establishes and builds positive, supportive relationships with families and community partners
  • Assists families with transition to school

Does this sound like you?

  • Successfully completed Early Childhood Education diploma or degree
  • Graduate certificate as a Resource Consultant or equivalent recognized by the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA)
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Proven experience providing support to children and families as a resource consultant
  • Solid team player that has the ability to communicate and collaborate with others
  • Bilingualism considered an asset
  • A cando attitude within an evolving organization striving to make a difference
  • Passionate about notforprofit environments supporting children and youth
  • Access to a vehicle and possession of a driver's license valid in Ontario
  • Training in QCCN is an asset
