POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Director, Technology Account Management, the Technology Account Manager is responsible for business alignment between the Technology Department and assigned internal business client areas.
The Technology Account Manager works closely with the business to understand their goals and objectives and collaborates with other teams to develop and deliver business technology plans.
The incumbent surfaces opportunities and areas for investment which drive digital capabilities that advance business goals and objectives in alignment with BCI's technology strategy.
This requires deep collaboration with business and technology leaders to propose the plans and develop the associated support documentation to drive selection and prioritization of initiatives and projects.
- It is important to note that this position is not for a Sales or Business Development Account Manager, nor is it suited for someone looking to develop in a Project Management role, as primary responsibility is to help deliver IT business roadmaps._
The position can be based in either Vancouver or Victoria (with a strong preference for Victoria) with travel between the two cities and has three career progression levels.- Level 1: Supports Account Management team with maintaining client relationships at all levels of the organization and supporting clients, understanding the goals and objectives of their business needs and business alignment.
Works independently and has an experienced level of competency within the role.- Level 2: Responsible for maintaining and developing client relationships at all levels of the organization and supporting clients, understanding the goals and objectives of their business needs and business alignment.
Implements and supports refinement of processes to assist with strategic planning, ideation and concept development for business-technology initiatives.Leverages communications tools and channels, including dashboards to maintain visibility of projects with technology and proactively identifies areas of interest to the business and promotes these through existing channels and relationships.
Identifies areas of business pain points to technology and works with technology teams to address these.Works independently, provides guidance and training to others, and has an advanced level of competency within the role.- Level 3: Responsible for maintaining and growing client relationships at all levels of the organization and supporting clients, understanding the goals and objectives of their business needs and business alignment.
Implements and leads process improvements to assist with strategic planning, ideation and concept development for business-technology initiatives.Drives improvements to communications tools and channels, including dashboards to maintain visibility of projects with technology and proactively identifies areas of interest to the business and promotes these through existing channels and relationships.
Identifies areas of business pain points to technology and leads projects with technology teams to address these. Fosters a network of external partners to engage with technology and business areas.Works independently, provides guidance and training to others, has an expert-level of competency within the role, and is an established expert in the discipline/area.
