Description

Primary Responsibilities/Duties:

Reporting to Site Superintendent / Supervisor
Field labour such as handling conduit, pulling fibre optic cable and setting vaults
Fusing HDPE conduit
Assisting directional driller by handling rods, attaching reamers, hooking pipe or cables
Complying with all safety requirements of the job
Operating equipment such as backhoe, miniex, skid steer
Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

Preferred 1year experience in construction OR service industry
Experience operating underground utility and telecommunication installations.
Experience operating a Dozer Plow, Heavy Machinery, etc.
Ability to think logically about work at hand and compare site conditions with project designs.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with supervisors, peers and clients
Ability to travel where projects dictate
Ability to detect errors, determine causes, and make corrections as appropriate
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
Ability to work long and unpredictable hours (Overtime, Evenings, etc)
Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs.; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
Criminal Background Check as required for secure sites

Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications/Assets:

Experience with installing Telecommunications or Hydro underground utilities
Class 3 License w/ Air (preferred)
Experience operating Heavy Equipment
