    Looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity as a Plant Manager? Our client, a well-established and global manufacturer with GTA facilities, is seeking a talented professional to lead their manufacturing operation in Toronto as a Key Plant Manager .

    Mandate
    As the Plant Manager, you will play a crucial role in the success of our client's industrial production.

    You will be responsible for executing innovative production initiatives, ensuring the safety of the entire plant staff, and leading the manufacturing team to exceed customer expectations.

    You will achieve this by continuously improving production tools, processes, and strategies, which will enable the manufacturing team to produce high-quality products that meet or exceed customer requirements.

    The Opportunity

    As the Plant Manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to lead and drive the success of our client's manufacturing operation.

    Your expertise will be instrumental in improving production tools, processes, and strategies to optimize efficiency and achieve maximum results.

    You will oversee a diverse group of production workers, supervisors, quality control, maintenance, and engineering support teams, ensuring seamless coordination and collaboration.


    Drawing on your extensive experience in implementing Six Sigma black belt projects and LEAN methodology, you will have the ability to upgrade and enhance the best practices within our client's facility.

    Your strong communication skills and leadership skills will enable you to effectively engage and inspire employees throughout these
    transformative changes.

    When you report on these changes and improvements at the corporate level, you will be able to highlight success of the Canadian operations and its role as a leader within the global company.

    Key Accountabilities

    The position will include the following responsibilities:

    Major Responsibilities:


    Lead and manage a diverse group of production workers, supervisors, QC, maintenance and engineering support teams, as well as various planning functions associated with operations.

    Lead the operations teams, driving them towards the consistent delivery of high-quality products.
    Continuously improve cost efficiency, while prioritizing employee safety and maintaining high morale within the workforce.
    Ensure and create an environment with high levels of engagement

    The Plant Manager will use their experience, competence and ingenuity to:
    Devise and execute strategic and tactical initiatives to enhance operational processes and activities, aiming for continuous improvement
    Utilize various manufacturing concepts to optimize workplace cleanliness, efficiency, and implement lean manufacturing approaches
    Establish a cohesive team that consistently challenges itself to enhance manufacturing best practices and methodologies
    Develop and implement systems to effectively monitor production, productivity, and waste
    Supervise and lead assigned staff, overseeing recruitment, selection, hiring, safety protocols, progressive discipline, employee relations, and performance evaluations

    Actively support our client's Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of natural resources and the health and safety of all employees.

    Candidate Profile

    The successful candidate will have the following:

    Education:
    A University degree in Engineering
    Relevant work experience in an industrial setting is required
    Lean Methodology principles certification(s) and implementation experience


    Experience:
    Minimum of 10 years manufacturing experience, of which at least 5 years was in a supervisory or management capacity


    Competencies and Attributes:
    Demonstrated experience implementing LEAN and Six Sigma Black Belt projects
    Demonstrated forward thinking and inclusive leadership
    Strong communication, interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
    Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing and production systems
