Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Ensure safe operation of all equipment in accordance with all provincial laws
  • Drive in a defensive manner and keep the vehicle under control at all times
  • Complete daily pre and posttrip inspections and report all issues found
  • Report all significant events on the road, including violations and near misses
  • Use truck warning lights and hazard lights for daily operation
  • Wear PPE as required
  • Evaluate the access of each job site, awareness of surroundings, for entering and exiting with the truck
  • Learn and understand the procedures for compacting and emptying the truck
  • Scale the loads before and after unloading, when at the Transfer Station
  • Have a complete understanding of the operations of the Front-End Truck with the ability to troubleshoot operations of the truck should the need arise
  • Good communications with other Front-End Drivers on a daily basis to help streamline the workload, as well as Dispatch and your Supervisor
  • Physical stamina and strength to push/pull bins on job sites and work overtime
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled training and meetings
  • Perform all duties as scheduled by Supervisor or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Specific Skills & Qualifications:


  • Hold a valid BC Class 3 Driver's Licence
  • Have strong knowledge of the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley area
  • Effective and Efficient communication skills
  • The ability to operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Physically fit; able to perform a physically demanding job
  • Work outdoors yearround in all types of weather conditions

$30.00-$35.00 per hour

Experience:


  • Commercial driving: 2 years (required)
