Sanitation Technician(s) are responsible to effectively use approved chemicals to disinfect surfaces, sanitize all components of our food production/processing equipment, and ensure that there is no unnecessary waste along the assembly line.


  • Use approved chemicals to consistently disinfect various surfaces to ensure proper sanitization methods occur
  • Disassemble, sanitize, and reassemble food processing equipment during downtime
  • Properly dispose of waste along the assembly line
  • Report any contamination issues to Maintenance Manager
  • Works with Maintenance to address any mechanical or facility related issues that arise or that would affect the production of healthy, sanitary products and building repairs
  • Sweep, mop, clear garbage and proactively participate in facility maintenance needs
  • Adhere to all safe operating procedures, work instructions and requirements
  • Dust ventilation ducts to ensure proper airflow
  • Lead the prevention of cross contamination of products and communicate issues with Quality Assurance team when required
  • Maintain all sanitation tools and equipment in good working condition
  • Follow all SDS sheets, WHMIS, GMP, HACCP and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Prepare cleaning solutions when applicable
  • Promote and enforce Health and Safety regulations and policies
  • Maintain daily cleaning and sanitation logs
  • Restock and maintain inventory of sanitation equipment and cleaning agents
  • Ensure food safety remains high priority and is an ambassador for a foodsafe culture
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Strong physical stamina and able to consistently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have the ability to work in a warm environment in summer months
  • Must have the ability to consistently stand, twist, pull, bend, push and pull
  • Previous manufacturing experience an asset
  • Ability to communicate and read labels in English
  • Positive attitude and teamwork skills
  • Must be able to listen and follow directions
