Position Overview:

We are looking for experienced Security Systems Technicians. We have openings in the Service Department and the Project Management Department.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Service Technicians_
  • Respond to a variety of service and scheduled maintenance jobs.
  • Analyze repair requirements and provide customers with appropriate solutions.
  • Execute the technical aspects of each job.
  • Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customer and ABC Security to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
  • Provide technical support and training to end users when applicable.
  • Provide excellent customer service on behalf of ABC Security.
  • Maintain vehicle inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Installation Technicians_
  • Execute the technical aspects of single or multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets. This includes programming, development, startup, testing, and commissioning of a variety of technical security systems, including custom and complex integrated systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company expectations.
  • Complete accurate and detailed reports for customers and ABC Security team.
  • Provide technical support and training to end users when applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Other Requirements:

- _IP and Analog Camera Systems_
  • Experience with DVR's, NVR's, analog cameras (TVI, CVI etc.), IP cameras, network switches, routers, patch panels, surge protection & UPS's, cabling, and programming (conduit experience preferred).
- _Access Control Systems_
  • Experience with card readers, electric locking hardware, request to exit devices, keypads, access door controllers, reader interfaces, I/O interfaces, door contacts, system software, and cabling (conduit experience preferred).
- _Intruder Alarm Systems_
  • Experience with alarm panels, keypads, door contacts, motion detectors, glass break sensors, sirens, cabling, programming, and connection to central stations.
  • Solid technical skills and experience related to electronic security systems.
  • Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
  • Exceptional ability to interpret manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams.
  • Able to use standard or specialized test instruments.
  • Able to use hand tools.
  • Able to execute all work in accordance with provincial and local regulations, demonstrate and maintain full compliance with the company expectations for general best practices as well as adherence to the company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Must have valid G driver's license, clean driving record, and safe space to park company vehicle overnight.

Experience:


  • Previous experience as a Security Systems Technician.

Education:


  • Industry certifications and training considered a bonus (ex. RBH, Axis, Hartmann, Avigilon, Mircom, I3, March Networks, etc.).

Job Type:


  • Permanent
  • Full Time (40 hours per week)

Hours of Work:


  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • We
    DO NOT have any on call /after hours emergency service requirement.

Working Conditions:


  • Travel to various client sites across the GTA (industrial, commercial, construction sites, etc.), coming to the office/warehouse when necessary.
  • Must be able to walk, climb, stand, lift, and bend repeatedly.

Location:


  • ABC Security's offices and warehouses are located at 55 Queens Plate Dr, Etobicoke, ON M9W 6P2. However, technicians mainly work at client locations.
