JOB DESCRIPTION
The Drafter is responsible for organizing, standardizing and maintaining the company drawing library as well as developing drawings for the production team.
This requires the individual to have a strong foundation of drafting knowledge, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Create drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, calculations, specification sheets and other data, as well as making any necessary changes.
- Prepare documentation packages and sets.
- Develop and maintain standard drafting procedures that align with company QC program.
- Identify that drawings meet specific dimensions, materials and procedures outlined while correcting any deviations.
- Communicate and collaborate with sales to finalize product features, production to incorporate new drawings, and quality to track ongoing improvements to drawings and processes.
WHAT DO I NEED TO SUCCEED?
- Diploma or certificate in drafting such as NAIT Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, or equivalent.
- 25 years of relevant drafting experience in the production industry.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in Solidworks and Fusion 360 software.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication, including writing, speaking and interpersonal communication
- Good organization and time management skills
- Quick problemsolving and troubleshooting abilities
- Attention to detail and analytical thinker
- Good collaboration and teamwork abilities
- Capacity to offer suggestions on process improvement
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
