Description
NCC Investment Group INC (NCCIG) is looking to fill the role of Corporate Services Manager located in Iqaluit.


The Corporate Services Manager position supports NCC Investments Group Inc., NCC Development (NCCD - construction management) and NCC Properties (NCCP - commercial and residential property management and leasing) Divisions.


Human Resources Duties:


  • Provide advice regarding human resources trends, issues and best practices;
  • Responsible for full cycle recruitment initiatives including advertisements, interviewing, and preparing offers.
  • Preparing recruitment resources for management including developing screening tools, interview questions and reference questionnaires.
  • Ensure employee onboarding process for all new employees are completed correctly including preemployment requirements or background checks;
  • Develop and ensure Job Descriptions are accurate for all existing and newly created position;
  • Complete new employee hireon forms, orientations and information sessions;
  • Maintain and update department related files;
  • Assist in processing payroll and monthly/annual territorial and federal reporting as required;
  • Complete employee clearance forms and issuing records of employment;
  • Assist to identify training needs for employees and maintaining all training records;
  • Maintain employee leave requests and tracking;
  • Support employee terminations by retrieving company property and confirming documentation e.g. undertake exit interviews, records of employment and files pertaining to the termination are complete;
  • Work with Managers to review complaints, conduct investigations and resolve issues;
  • Assist Managers to ensure employee evaluations/reviews are carried out in a timely and professional manner.

Training Coordination:


  • Communicate and formalize organizational material for orientation and job specific training;
  • In collaboration with management identify training needs for existing and future positions;
  • Identify training opportunities for employees to address company gaps
  • Research, organize and communicate training opportunities for individual employees based on need;
  • Maintain employee training records and identify timelines for any requiring recertification;
  • Assist in the development and maintain training budget;
  • Handle enrollment and logistics for training activities for employees; and
  • Develop relationships and work with training providers and funding providers to ensure the best opportunities for employee training.

Administration, Research and Document Verification:


  • Oversee office management tasks, including proper management of office equipment, furnishings, telecommunications devises, office supplies etc.;
  • Assist with preparing and reviewing various documents prior to submission to ensure format, and contents are relevant and accurate;
  • Reviews materials (legislation, bylaws, regulations, etc.) as requested and provides summary or input as it relates to the company or specific topic;
  • Researches and drafts proposals for either changes or additions to existing company policies to ensure compliance with organizational needs and legislation;
  • Ensure the management, storage, confidentiality and security of employee records;
  • Provide operational support and guidance to staff in both areas of Human Resources;
  • Assists in the preparation of communications including advertising, reports, etc.;
  • Assist with special projects/assignments when required.

Strategic Planning and Board Relations:


  • Assist with development and implementation of the corporation's strategic objectives;
  • Work with the NCCIG President & CEO to ensure the development, implementation and maintenance of an uptodate Strategic Plan, oversee and ensure the Plans efficient implementation;
  • Prepare and submit appropriate monthly, quarterly and annual briefings and reports on the assigned divisions or areas of responsibility;
  • Develop and deliver, when needed, presentations on behalf of NCC for various businessrelated meetings, conferences or etc.;
  • Support the Management and Board in the development and updating of Corporate Policies;
  • Assist preparation of all Board, Executive and Annual General Meetings material; and
  • Ensure that information provided to the Board is clearly and concisely presented in the approved format.

Formal Education and training:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field;
Completion of a recognized HR certificate or diploma Program preferred

  • Professional Designation considered an asset.

Professional experience and Job-related abilities

  • At least three years of experience in a Human Resources or Corporate Services environment required;
  • Significant experience in preforming generalist tasks considered an asset;
  • Proven experience in Occupational Health and Safety;
  • Experience coordinating and planning individual and group training initiatives
  • Proven ability to deal simultaneously with multiple files;
