This position is ideal for someone looking for a
casual opportunity (hours vary and can cover shifts during the week and weekend) from
April to September 2023.


Driver - Job requirements

  • Be able to drive a medium duty/box truck (20') and/or a truck and cargo trailer
  • Possess a valid driver's license, clean current Driver's abstract, and clear criminal record.
  • Have the ability to work and navigate the City of Calgary and surrounding areas.
  • Offload truck at the beginning and end of the shift as required

Attended Donation Station (ADS) Ambassador - Job requirements

  • Open and close Attended Donation Station (ADS) located throughout Calgary.
  • Empty donation bin into ADS and organize and pack donations to be transported.
  • Keep parking lot, ADS area (inside and outside) and work area neat and clean.
  • Greet customers/donors and assist them in unloading donations from their vehicles
  • Assist drivers with unloading the ADS into truck.
  • Lead the ADS Team as and when needed

Events - Job Description

  • Attend and lead the weekend Community Cleanup events through the month of April to June and September
  • Coordinate attendance and communicate with organizers of the events
  • Loading the truck during the events and unloading the trucks after the event by liaising with the other employees attending the event
  • Promoting the agency and the home pickup program by handing out green bags to donors as and when needed
  • Working with the Volunteer Coordinator for organizing volunteer requirements

General Qualifications and skills:


  • Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings & weekends.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must have good decisionmaking skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Good numerical ability
  • Speak/write/communicate clearly in English.
  • Be flexible, reliable, with great work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding any issues or questions.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all CPAA documents and information.
  • Must have a valid driver's license own and transportation.

General Working Conditions:


  • Regularly works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold and wet conditions.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
  • Ability to reach overhead, kneeling, twisting, bending, stooping.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
  • Safety equipment may be required, e.g., steeltoed safety boots, safety eyewear, vests, gloves etc.
  • Smart phone required for the purpose of tracking hours worked.
  • Requires good manual dexterity for lifting and carrying purpose.
  • Required to work in the standing position for extended period.
