Van Harten Surveying Inc., is looking for an
Accounting Associate to join their team


Reporting to the Accounting Lead, the Accounting Associate works efficiently with detailed financial information to facilitate accurate and complete financial records and reports.

To ensure success, the Accounting Associate is analytical, and possesses strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:


  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconcile company credit card statements
  • Respond to vendor, client and internal requests and inquiries
  • Prepare financial forms, documents and reports as required
  • Assist with payroll processing, as necessary
  • Update ledgers, research and resolve discrepancies as required
  • Collaborate internally with other departments to communicate accounting processes and resolve discrepancies
  • Foster internal and external professional relationships and effective communication
  • Assist accounting lead with month end and year end activities
  • Manage client communication regarding overdue accounts, conflict resolution, and various other matters
  • Compliance with all company and legislative accounting and financial regulations
  • Monitor and administer accounting systems and procedures as applicable and assigned
  • Maintenance of accurate records and filing systems
  • Performing other duties as required

Job Requirements

  • Post secondary education in accounting or related field
  • 2 years related experience
  • Experience with Sage or similar accounting software
  • High degree of precision and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite of programs
  • Ethical behaviour when dealing with sensitive financial information
