About The Position


The role of the Purchaser is to manage assigned products, including the variety and quality demanded by Staalduinen Floral's customers.

Determine landed costs for all products and see that selling prices are established and published according to company policy.

Collaborate with the Sales team and ensure that the availability of stock on hand and incoming products is made known to the Sales team and warehouse staff.

Keep well informed regarding new products, changing trends, and seasonal demand variations.

Keep aware of competitive offerings and pricing in the industry and proactively search out and evaluate new products and suppliers.

Required Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of Purchasing experience (preference given to those with floral industry experience)
  • College diploma /accreditation in Purchasing and/or Supply Chain management
  • Intermediate to advanced level of experience with MS Office Applications, in particular strong Excel skills
  • Intermediate to advanced level of experience with ERP systems
  • Able to create and format reports
  • Proven experience in collaborating with vendors, customers, coworkers, and the public in a positive, courteous, and respectful manner
  • Must be proficient in the English language and able to communicate fluently verbally and written
  • Must have previous experience working within a highenergy, fastpaced office environment
  • Must be available to work longer hours during peak seasons
  • Solid continuous improvement skills
  • Demonstrate positive work ethics
  • Strong organization & and time management skills
  • Business travel may be required up to 10%
