What you'll need to have

  • You have knowledge of the labour law, tax regulation, policies and compliances in relation to Compensation.
  • You have knowledge of rapid and flexible working processes under which requirements and solutions evolve through the collaborative effort of selforganizing crossfunctional teams.
  • You create, implement and follow up on rules and practices that ensure accountability, compliance, fairness and transparency within IKEA.
  • You have experience benchmarking roles to market and/or wage band benchmarking.
  • You develop and use IKEA standards and manuals to follow rules, comply to standards and provide direction.
  • You have a high level of computer literacy, including strong Excel and HR Management Systems. Knowledge of ADP Globalview is an asset.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years' experience in HR Management, Business Administration or equivalent and a minimum 3 years of experience in Compensation related position.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for providing expertise and services in the outlining and implementation of Compensation and Benefits levels for managers and coworkers.
  • Partnering and supporting the Total Rewards Manager to ensure IKEA Canada's compensation strategy is competitive, relevant and attractive.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of a national Total Rewards strategy with a focus on compensation management. This includes contributing to the design, implementation and training of compensation programs, including bonus
programs, pension governance, and Group Contribution RRSP/DPSP initiatives.

  • Ensuring our IKEA Total Rewards objectives are aligned with the global IKEA People Plan
  • Build and maintain a trustful and influencing relationship with the country management and unit HR teams, providing expert opinion on compensation when required.
  • Ensuring our national compensation approach is communicated and understood by our many coworkers
  • Support and provide advice on all compensation issues across the country, including wage decisions, policy and guidelines and job evaluations.
  • Audit and analysis of compensation administration processes to ensure they align with our goals and comply with policy/legislation such as Pay Equity.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of compensation programs and support our strategy to position IKEA Canada as Great Place to Work.
  • Completion of national compensation surveys.
  • Provide support to the Total Rewards Benefit team.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third party providers, ensuring timely and accurate remittances.
