Job summary


Reporting to the Director of Operations, Buyer is responsible to ensure Coast Spas Products arrive at our Facility in a timely and intact manner.

Ensuring the right product is here, at the right time, for the right price.

This role is supplier facing as coordination between sales, production, dealer schedule and shipping companies will ensure timely and accurate delivery services.

With overall responsibility for delivery, storage and condition of materials, this role will also oversee the coordination of delivery of Non-Production based requests and services.

Ensuring the ERP is up to date for all COGS in order to allow Management to make the appropriate adjustments to Costing and pricing as needed.


Leadership of your Team


The Buyer will be responsible for providing leadership and support to the warehouse team (Order Pickers, forklift operators, Accessory team), leveraging their knowledge and experience to motivate and advise them.

The Buyer will ensure that workers follow proper procedures, including sharing industry techniques for using tools and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.

Additionally, the Buyer will foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork among all departments, driving a sense of urgency to meet targets and increase productivity.

QualityThe Buyer is accountable for ensuring that Coast Spas products meet the company's Quality Standards, working closely with the team to achieve this goal.

The Buyer will take proactive steps to address any quality issues that arise, minimizing waste and rework on Raw materials and finished goods.

Additionally, the Buyer will champion the processes outlined in work instructions and ensure that materials are current and up to date.

Key interactions (Internal)
This role will interact with Sales, Production, Logistics Providers and freight carriers.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Establish and maintain a strong health and safety culture to drive the facility towards zero recordable incidents.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with other departments, including but not limited to sales, procurement, production, Engineering and Maintenance.
  • Develop and implement training programs for employees to enhance storage skills and knowledge.
  • Provide leadership and promote teamwork to meet business, customer satisfaction, growth, and profitability goals.
  • Coach, direct, and oversee inventory related duties for a small team.
  • Set performance goals, manage, develop, and motivate the warehouse team.
  • Provide forklift training & Order Picker for the facility.
  • Manage the savings budget, identifying areas for additional cost savings through negotiation and sourcing, and ensuring the efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
  • Source costeffective freight quotes from various transportation companies.
  • Negotiate with carriers, warehouse operations, and insurance company representatives for services and preferential rates.
  • Coordinate and monitor the transportation of goods internally at the Factory as well as Inbound freight.
  • Arrange for shipping documentation and oversee the scheduling, dispatching, tracking, and tracing of goods in transit (Inbound).
  • Participate in the development and communication of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and frequently communicate progress in attainment of these KPIs. Monitor department performance, prepare reports for Director of Operations, and plan for changes to schedules and policies.
  • Participate in daily/weekly meetings.
  • Monitor, identify, and investigate freight damage problems related to goods shipped to the factory.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all inventoryrelated inquiries.
  • Organize and maintain an orderly Procurement office.
  • Organize Raw Materials (Inside and Outside).
  • Communicate effectively with all internal and external clients about raw material delivery.
  • Perform miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned.
  • Research and implement new procedures to increase efficiency.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Post-Secondary education preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft office including Word, Excel and Google Docs
  • Minimum 3 years in associated field
  • 2 years management or supervisory experience preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • They should also be proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Provide a high level of customer service.
  • Sort, check, count, and verify numbers accurately.
  • Understand and follow safety procedures.
