- Be a Role Model -- you have been there and done that in housekeeping, so be willing to pitch in and help your managers as well as your team with whatever needs doing -- training, coaching, cleaning, inspecting. You know it and can do it all.
- Be a Details Person -- always be looking for excellence throughout your hotel and make suggestions to management and/or help train staff if they can't see what you do. Keep an eye on supplies and expenses to meet your department's financial objectives.
- Be Safety Conscious -- you understand how to train your team to work safely and efficiently and per OSHA guidelines. You also understand when and how to report issues to maintenance and/or security.
- Supervise and ensure completion of all duties of Housekeeping staff.
- Log all requests and confirm completion.
- Maintain key control. Stock and maintain inventory of supplies.
- Balance and prepare individual paperwork for closing of shift.
- Inspect all rooms assigned to room attendants in his/her section of the hotel on a daily basis.
- Check appearance of all employees to ensure compliance with New Castle Standards of Appearance.
- Prepare room attendants' daily assignments in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.
- Submit maintenance reports/requests to the Engineering department.
- Confer with Guest Services regarding information about discrepant rooms via phone or in person.
- Clean guest rooms when needed.
- Inspect room attendants' closets/carts/sign board at the end of the attendants' shift.
- Supervise and inspect night attendant's duties.
- Inspect Laundry room daily. Check for overloading of washers/dryers.
- Completes a floor walk of all floors, inspects carpets, walls, ashtrays, mirrors & lights.
- Completes inspections of all public areas, offices, washrooms, back of the house. Etc.
- Inspects equipment to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance.
- Coordinate emergency procedures.
- Assist in scheduling of Housekeeping staff. Coordinate staff breaks. Conduct change of shift briefing.
- Run daily arrival report and mark registration cards for special requests.
- Review changes in Policy and Procedure.
- Enter room status into departmental computer.
- Other duties as required.

You are vital to the success of your department because you know CLEAN. You understand the job and what is necessary for a hotel to offer truly excellent housekeeping. You assist housekeeping management in realizing their vision of excellence and work side by side with the housekeeping staff to help them understand exactly what is expected of them, especially when it comes to new hires. Job RequirementsThis role requires three years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, with prior supervisory experience preferred. Must know how to effectively use the various pieces of equipment/tools used in housekeeping. A high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Physical requirements include the ability to perform medium work -- exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This role requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances, with the ability to kneel, bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms, as well as the ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels. Long hours sometimes required. Must be able to multi task. Must possess good communication skills - fluency in reading, writing and speaking English required.
