Description:
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data entry required for reporting of orders within the required (real-time) time frame.
Communicate, coordinate, and clarify items picked for shipment
Calculate freight costs upon request
Ensure correct freight terms are used
Arrange special heavy weight air shipments upon request
Communicate, coordinate, and clarify shipment information between Marketing, Traffic and Shipping when required
Print and distribute documents necessary for shipments, includes: Packing Slip, Bill of Lading, Customs Invoice, Caricoms, Special Export documents, Line Releases, Waybills and any other documents required for customs clearance and delivery of shipment
Daily check of all orders processed for shipment to ensure quantities reported are
In fact, quantities physically shipped.
Check to be validated by an authorized stamp and signature
Arrange for containers and transport
Work directly with Freight Forwarders and Coordinate with Shippers
Finalize bookings when required, and coordinate shipment information with freight forwarder / carrier when needed
Process Temporary Import Bonds when needed
Knowledge of required documentation to accompany shipment
Knowledge of Export Regulations - to be maintained and acted upon
Request Freight Quotes
Maintain easy-to-access files on all off-shore exports on a per order basis
Document Off-Shore Shipment Information
Maintain and Organize Monthly Freight Forwarder Quotes
Process packages which are to ship via UPS, FedEx, or other carriers
Keep up to date on courier technology
Order courier supplies as required
All processing required for shipment from Winnipeg to sub-contractor
Process required (off-system) shipping and customs documentation
Coordinate and notify all applicable parties
Arrange shipment from Vendor to Final Destination
Coordinate with all parties (Purchasing, Production Control and Shipper)
Maintain Cost and Efficiencies when selecting shipping method and carrier
Maintain all transaction records (keep on file)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Secondary Education an asset
2 years' experience working in transportation, warehousing, and distribution environment
Experience with Microsoft word and Excel
Display and maintain accurate data entry and record skills
Excellent planning skills and capable of meeting tight deadlines
Good interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills
Self Driven and Committed to learn and grow with Winpak Division.
