Job description
Our Client a manufacturing of corrugated products requires a Die Assistant to support the Die Coordinator in all aspects related to preparing the production area and machines with the appropriate print plates and any other materials as needed.
Assist Die Coordinator in ensuring plates and steel rule dies (SRD) are quality checked, organized and maintained for use in production.
Duties to include:
Work in a safe manner at all times by following all company safety procedures and rules.
Wear complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before, during and while inside the
production.
Ensure plates and steel rule dies (SRD) are quality checked, organized and maintained for
ready use in production.
Responsible for assisting with prepress room coordination by examining print plates and steel
rule dies (SRD) and their fitness for use.
Review and verify docket design drawings and job orders to determine specifications (e.g.,
production date) and ensure compliance with customer requirements; advise press area
accordingly.
Coordinate with the scheduling department to meet machine schedules and ensure all
tooling components (Print plates and SRD) are delivered to the press in a timely manner.
Provide print plates and steel rule dies (SRD) to production as needed and make
repairs/adjustments on the production floor to maintain efficiency and quality.
Assist machine operator in resolving issues with respect to print plate or steel rule dies (SRD)
and recommend measures that will improve productivity and quality by providing technical
guidance and solutions.
Create Press-types for Emba Machines as needed (including Part #/Class stamp and Recycle
Mobius Loop), match part # with print specifications for Emba, and measure panel sizes to
ensure information fits on the product.
Meet the schedule of Advance Planning Board (APB) to ensure workflow by coordinating all
activities of the prepress room in advance and coordinate with scheduling, design, processing
and production departments if required.
Responsible for updating print plate and steel rule die (SRD) listings (on-going); report on
tooling that has been out of use periodically.
Assists in maintaining accurate inventory of materials and supplies for prepress room and
provides necessary information to purchasing, processing and design teams.
Ensure plates are washed and stored properly after use.
Ensure print plates and steel rule dies (SRD) are organized and safely stored in storage areas
and on the production floor.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including conduct, Health & Safety and
maintaining good housekeeping.
Assist Digital Press and/or CAD table when directed by Supervisor and responsible for
operation of machines to cover absences and/or vacations.
Ensure compliance with set policies and procedures within I.S.O. 9001 standard.
Training others when required
Perform additional facilitating duties related to prepress and production as assigned

- This role starts between $23.00 to $25.00 per hour
