Applications are invited to serve as Part-Time Professors in the Culinary Innovation and Food Technology program within the School of Culinary Arts at Niagara College.

The Culinary programs are located at our Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.


Part-time faculty within the Culinary Innovation program work as part of a highly-collaborative and innovative program team of faculty and technical support staff within our classrooms and industry-standard kitchen and food science labs.

This team collaboratively provides a superior and supportive learning experience to students enrolled in the Advanced Diploma in Culinary Innovation and Food Technology three-year program.


Required Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (Food Science, Quality Management), or a related field of study
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive management and leadership experience in industrial contexts related to food product innovation, food safety and quality management systems, or food manufacturing leadership
  • Demonstrated collegial collaborative approach to team membership and leadership
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Evidence of commitment to student success and/or coaching/mentoring others to high standards
  • Demonstrated networking skills with a variety of stakeholders within the field of expertise
  • Postsecondary teaching and collaborative curriculum development experience
  • Ongoing studies or certifications within Education or Adult Education
  • Relevant professional certifications such as Canadian Certified HACCP Practitioner, SQF Practitioner or comparable food safety certifications and relevant industrial certifications
  • For food safety specialists, ability to deliver curriculum meeting International HACCP Alliance, Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance or Food Processing Skills Canada accredited HACCP food safety curriculum, or delivery of a comparable industrially relevant certification
  • Industrial baking experience
  • Industry accolades, honours and accomplishments of professional significance
