MOBIA is currently recruiting a Technician to join our team in Sherbrook, Quebec.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Replace communications systems, antennas, components in government vehicles such as police cars, ambulances, snowmobiles, and other motorized vehicles.
  • Test and troubleshoot radio issues.
  • Travelling to sites to troubleshoot defective equipment including controllers, power supply cards, RF, wiring, etc.
  • Opening and closing customer service tickets
  • Working with IP networks, testing microwaves, conducting tests for the 911 service and call center
  • Receiving materials, assembling, and verifying work orders and specifications
  • Identifying missing materials and reporting the missing items to the manager
  • Installing and putting into service telecommunications equipment at sites.
  • Reading installation manuals of equipment, drawings, and being able to interpret them.

Skills/Qualifications:


  • 2+ years in field telecommunications technician roles is an asset
  • A full and valid Canadian driver's license and a clear driver's abstract is required.
  • Daily travel to various locations and overnight travel may be required.
  • Oncall and rotation shifts are possible.
  • Experience working in the field, in telecommunications, electronics is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Telco standards
  • Good Knowledge AC/DC theory
  • DC Power Plant installation knowledge
  • Familiarity with wireless networks is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Overall knowledge of networking architectures
  • High aptitude for troubleshooting and working under pressure.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts and theories to a nontechnical audience.
  • IT and PC knowledge and understanding.
  • Fluent in French is mandatory, English is considered an asset
