OBJECTIVE
Reporting to the Production Manager, Finished Goods, the Team Lead (Pack) is responsible for the coordination of production employees on the production lines as well as monitoring product flow and line operations.
In addition, the Team Lead (Pack) is also responsible for ensuring sufficient packaging inventories, managing production line assignments, and maintaining product quality within customer approved specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Current license for Forklift and Reach
- Minimum 13 years production lead experience, food industry an asset
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Packing line experience using packing equipment, interfaces, and scales
- Strong communication skills
- Team player with a "handson" approach to leadership
- Attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
- Ability to multitask
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively and stand on feet for majority of the working day
- Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required, which may include some evenings and weekends
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set-up, monitor and assign production team members to designated production lines.
- Ensure the production schedule is accomplished on time, in full, and with the allocated amount of labour.
- Follow-up, investigate and resolve any issues that may arise throughout the shift (equipment malfunction, labour demands, packaging requirements, quality issues).
- Accountable for the accuracy of all finished goods, and packaging transactions, including but not limited to, repacking transactions; packaging transfers; labels for production line SKUs.
- Relocate packaging and finished goods.
- Perform daily start-up of production equipment as needed (air compressors, pack line equipment, etc.).
- Work alongside Team Leads and Production Supervisor to complete the daily production schedule efficiently and within the allocated time.
- Responsible for assisting in quarterly inventory counts, as well as fiscal year-end inventory count and audit.
- Train, coach and support all team members (Machine Operators, Coordinators, Production Associates, Forklift Operators).
- Accountable for overall accuracy and enforcement of all data tracking programs on each production line.
- Monitor finished goods for both packaging accuracy and product quality.
- Provide vacation coverage for employees on all production lines.
- Ensure compliance with all provincial acts and regulations pertaining to health and safety, food safety, as well as EarthFresh company policies and procedures.
- Perform all other duties as required by the Production Manager, Finished Goods.
