- Transfer to and receive prescriptions from prescribers, and other pharmacists/pharmacy technicians.
- Check filled unit dose carts from a fill list.
- Point of care testing, device teaching, and independent technical checks of prescriptions.
- The Pharmacy Technician will focus on the technical aspects of a prescription. Inventory management, including participating in cycle counts, narcotic counts, inventory discrepancy investigation, and order.
- Perform administration functions, such as documentation, third-party billing reconciliations, and completing required audits.
- Review prescriptions to confirm that they are complete, authentic, and meet all current laws, regulations, and policies.
- Answer patients' questions and refer them to the pharmacist if the question requires a patient assessment, clinical analysis, or application of therapeutic knowledge.
- Manage the pharmacy environment by maintaining the inventory, including safe storage, and handling of drugs.
- Maintain the cleanliness, functionality, and integrity of compounding, packaging, dispensing, and storage equipment.
- Check and accept responsibility for the work of pharmacy assistants employed in the pharmacy.
- With the assistance of information software, identify potential interactions, therapeutic duplications, and incompatibilities within patient profiles.
- Perform quality assurance audits/checks on distribution functions and activities.
- Other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
- Pharmacy Technician Certificate from a CCAPP-accredited post-secondary institution.
- Previous retail pharmacy experience is an asset.
- Kroll software experience is an asset.

*Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, and under the supervision of a pharmacist, this position will practice in collaboration with pharmacists to provide the best possible pharmacy services to our patients.
