Christopher Robar Contracting specializes in geothermal heating and electrical control wiring, in-floor heating, and duct design.

Chris has been installing and servicing electrical and mechanical systems for large residential and commercial customers in HRM and the South Shore for over 25 years.

We are currently looking for electrical apprentices and general laborers who are interested in entering the electrical apprenticeship program to assist with a growing number of residential construction projects in the HRM and surrounding areas.

In these roles you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to assist in the installation of mechanical and electrical work, geothermal and electrical systems, duct systems and controls.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday, 8 hours/day with occasional overtime.

• Perform a variety of mechanical and electrical tasks on job sites as instructed including running electrical wiring, installing sheet metal, and installing custom heating and cooling systems.
• Follow all safety protocols and must be able to work safely in a physically demanding environment.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

• Completion of grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
• Pervious construction experience preferred.
• Ability for physical labour and be able to climb, kneel, reach, crouch, crawl or work in small and high spaces.
• Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and materials.
• Mechanically inclined with an aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting, and eager to learn new skills.
• Ability to take direction with a positive attitude and motivated to contribute to a high quality finished product.
• Valid driver's licence and/or reliable transportation to and from worksites required.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Must have cell phone and proper PPE.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
