Reporting to the Senior Manager, Air Partnership & Program Performance, this role is responsible for complex business casing and performance management for Aeroplan's Airline Partnerships and retail sale of Aeroplan points.


Primary functions

  • Complex Business Casing and Strategy
  • Responsible to directly engage with the Airline Partnerships team and provide strategic input on new initiatives and enhancement opportunities. For example, deepening existing partnerships as well as prospecting new launch program & financial impact
  • Work closely and provide input with teams within the Loyalty Branch on complex business cases, including transformational program decisions such as Air Canada points accrual structure. (These decisions have potential impact to Aeroplan's bottom line in the tens of millions of dollars each year)
  • Distill complex problems and work through potential solutions utilizing Finance, Loyalty, Revenue Management, Network Planning, and other data sources
  • Investigate opportunities into untapped markets based on deep analysis into a particular whitespace in Airline Partnerships as well as retail sale of points.
  • Key Performance Indicator ownership
  • Using PowerBI provided data, responsible for detailed analysis on Accrual and Redemption Revenue and Expenses, recommending optimization across over 50 individual partners.
  • Work with key Air Canada crossfunctional stakeholders, such as Analytics, Currency Management, Revenue Managements, and Alliances to ensure Program KPIs are readily available and accessible
  • Deliver mutiyear forecasts, taking into account multiple internally liaised inputs and contributing external factors, for key Aeroplan Program Performance business drivers such as accrual and redemption yields and revenues.
  • Lead engagement with Finance to ensure KPIs are accurately reflected in financial reports
  • Trusted internal advisor on results analysis and financial projections across portfolio of Airline Partners, Air Canada Accruals, and retail sale of points.
  • Provide direction to team member to ensure timely analysis can be provided to senior management on evolving competitive landscape changes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing or related discipline required
  • Accounting post graduate or MBA an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, accounting, or finance; airline specific an asset: Network Planning, Revenue Management, or Loyalty.
  • Exceptional financial, analytical, and planning skills, which enable solving tangible business problems
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into relevant business terms; experience presenting to various levels of management in an engaging way
  • Incredibly strong written skills with ability to develop and present materials suitable for an executive audience in a timesensitive environment
  • Proven ability to work crossfunctionally, communicate effectively and handle complex deliverables within and across business units
  • Notable experience handling multiple timecritical projects within an evolving business environment
  • Knowledge of Air Canada, Aeroplan and the international airline, and loyalty industry required
  • Ability to synthesize complex information at a rapid pace to distill for Senior. Execs
