Organizational Context:

The Joffre LAO Plant, commissioned in 2001, is a petrochemical facility located in Alberta, Canada. Joffre is part of the INEOS Oligomers business and is INEOS's only operation in Canada.

Joffre uses leading proprietary technology to produce Linear Alpha Olefin's that are "intermediate building blocks" used in the manufacture of polyethylene, synthetic motor oils, detergents, lubricant additives, and synthetic drilling fluids.

The Joffre LAO plant is a fully self-contained operating unit within the larger Joffre petrochemical complex, which is shared with Nova.


Job Purpose:

The Joffre Procurement Administrative Coordinator's Primary purpose is to provide value-added Contract, Procurement, and Finance activities to the site.

Value is measured by minimizing fully loaded costs for delivery of goods and services under contract, managing relationships with key vendors, facilitating/assisting in contract negotiations, and assisting the Finance and Procurement Group with efficiency optimization responsible for supporting all aspects of procurement and warehouse.


Responsibilities AND Accountabilities
The roles and responsibilities listed below may evolve over time to meet the needs of the business:

  • Process SAP service entries, process and resolution of blocked invoices, process receipts, and support
  • Proactively and continually seek and develop new and competitive sources of supply for stocked items and consumables, including using IN.Spend to check for vendors other sites are using
  • Maintaining Vendor Management Database
  • Lead role for contract database administration and liaison with legal
  • Other administrative tasks as needed: Compile reports, audit invoices, vendor conflict resolution
  • Set up in Vendor Management and SAP new bids and contracts
  • Assist with collection arrangements of Malus penalties that violate life saving rules
  • Assist with cycle counting, dead stock review, and picking orders
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual spend map and Net Exposures buy data
  • Facilitate the review of workflow procedures in a controlled document format and participate in vendor meetings

Team Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


  • Prepare meeting agendas and minutes
  • Run Month end reports and audits for finance
  • Participate in audits, demonstrate safety consciousness through active participation in safety audits, housekeeping, and safety discussions/meetings
  • Embrace and promote the INEOS 20 Safety Principles
  • All other duties and special projects as assigned

Skills & Knowledge Required:


  • Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, Certificate or Journeyman in Supply Chain, Business, Economics or other related field required
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Experience in a petrochemical and/or refining environment in a Technical or Business position would be an asset
  • Ability to resolve conflicts with vendors
  • Advanced experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision
  • Selfmotivated and well organized
  • Diligent and thorough worker, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to recognize, identify and act upon ways to improve work processes and reduce costs

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and perform tasks requiring repetitive use of hands.
