Position Title: Agriculture Trainee

Position Type: Regular - Full-Time

Position Location: Carberry

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Agriculture Operations Manager, the Agriculture Trainee will broaden their understanding of McCain Agriculture and the responsibilities of a Field Representative. The Trainee will take on increasing levels of Field Representative responsibilities, including fostering grower relations, field visits, storage inspections, and harvest yield sampling.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Foster grower/supplier relationships for business development, and monitor fields and storage facilities for safety and quality
• Coordinate with Agriculture Food Safety Manager on Food Safety Initiatives and ensure grower compliance
• Identify improvement areas for production, quality, and safety, communicating with growers
• Analyze potato crop data, collect field records, and drive technology adoption
• Utilize databases for decision-making and participate in cross-functional teams for improvement
• Attend agricultural meetings to stay updated on practices and drive safety initiatives
• Engage in various strategic initiatives including finance basics and supply chain management

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
• 1 – 2 years in agricultural or food manufacturing
• Strong interpersonal, digital, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to operate necessary equipment

Travel:

• Local travel primarily with occasional business trips
