Alberta Health Services (AHS) is currently seeking a Business Continuity Management Specialist (BCMS) to join our team.


The BCMS will perform a variety of specific engagement activities that include coordination, plan development, implementation, plan maintenance in the form of evaluation, testing, training and communication support.

Importantly, BCMS activities will consistently align with departmental policy and framework objectives, as well as organizational values, mission and vision.

The BCMS will bring proven leadership, problem solving and interpersonal skills as they coach, mentor and present complex strategies to a variety of organizational leaders in a unique, fast-paced healthcare settings.

This role will also enjoy a flexible remote or remote/hybrid work environment.

Description:

Reporting to the Manager, BCM Strategic Operations the BCMS is accountable for leading and/or supporting complex initiatives that bolster BCM capability requirements to achieve the risk management objectives of AHS


Specific responsibilities will include:
Implementing and transitioning BCM projects (full life cycle). Leading and conducting Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Departmental Risk Assessment process and reporting. Leading and conducting Site Risk Analysis process and reporting. Developing and assisting with the implementation of continuity / recovery / mitigation strategies. Leading the development of business continuity plans (BCPs) and site recovery plans. Leading and conducting exercises, tests and training sessions (produce reports summarizing results). Provide ongoing support to departmental/site sustainment of plans (maintenance, corrective action and meeting compliance requirements). Championing BCM in all interactions to positively impact culture and generate new opportunities (presentations, networking, etc.). Leading and participating in divisional and departmental strategic initiatives and projects. Providing ad hoc incident response, continuity and recovery support to zone and provincial structure activations.

As a part of the Emergency/Disaster Management Division the BCMS will consult with internal AHS leadership, multidisciplinary teams and lines of AHS business and service.

External consultations may also include AHS affiliates, partners and/or government agencies.

Gets technology - Enough to perform day to day tasks (e.g., MS 365/Office/SharePoint). Aspires for excellence and continued learning. Healthcare experience preferred. Certified to ICS 200 and/or incident response experience preferred.


Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge/experience in IT Disaster Recovery Planning (ITDR). Active ISO 22301 certification

  • Provisional, Implementer or equivalent. BCM Software admin experience (e.g., Fusion, RPX, Castellan). Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) with five years experience. Certified and/or experience in Change Management, Business Data and Process Analytics (e.g., CBAP, CBDA, Prosci Certified Change Practitioner).

$28.20-$48.45 per hour
