About the role

  • Lockheed Martin is looking for a leader to 1) integrate and deliver aircrew training resources, courseware, equipment, and support services on schedule, 2) be the primary regional interface to prime contractor, SkyAlyne, and to Winnipeg Site key stakeholders including 402 Squadron leadership and FAcT service delivery partners, and 3) lead a large team of specialized employees and partners to achieve Training Readiness Verifications and contracted graduate output rates.
  • The business goal is to achieve an affordable yet innovative training delivery program that meets the Royal Canadian Air Force's throughput demands to qualify next generation aircrew. The leader will also be responsible for the delivery of the associated social and economic benefits required for FAcT, particularly in the areas of Indigenous participation and benefits.
  • This position is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 10 years of program management or related experience
  • Track record of successfully establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with customers, subcontractors, staff, and internal functional organization
  • Possess Excellent Communication skills written, verbal, and presentation to effectively communicate business cases, statuses, and concerns to all levels of Executive Management
  • Functional, Program, Supplier, End-Customer, etc
  • Experience developing and mentoring other leaders and experience managing direct reports
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead and manage a multidisciplined team of technical and program personnel, and contracted partners
  • Proven Full Spectrum Leadership capabilities in dynamic working environments
  • Experience with management of and accountability for a business cycle (Long Range Planning/OpPlan/Outlook, New Business Funds, Capital/overhead)
  • Experience with aircraft operations and mission system development, integration and test
  • Experience with training system and courseware design, development, and delivery
  • A track record of successfully establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with customers, subcontractors, and subordinates
  • Ability to establish priorities, manage risks, and bring matters/issues to successful closure
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Additional skills desired for the role

  • Ability to foster a collaborative environment and work through roadblocks and boundaries
  • Exposure to and ability to lead through Lockheed Martin processes and business attributes
  • Experience leading complex development programs through major design reviews
  • Experience managing complex, multimillion dollar defense programs
  • Program kickoff, baselining and ongoing management expertise (PPMP, PPM01, PMM)
  • Implementation of business rhythm (staff meetings, program and capture reviews, functional tagups, portfolio reviews, independent reviews)
  • Experience in performance and risk management, compliance and quality assurance
  • Have detailed knowledge, gained by formal training or work experience, of the DND operational airworthiness rules and standards
  • Have detailed knowledge and experience in the RCAF Flight Safety program
  • Experience with stakeholder management, customer engagement and communications strategy, and Indigenous relations
  • Government of Canada GBA+ training and certification
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills
