Wide Format Print Production Operator
KKP Halifax is looking to hire a Wide Format Print Production Operator to join our team. The Digital Wide

Format Production Operator works as part of the Print Shop Team to serve customers in their printing, copying and finishing needs within their timelines and specifications.

Must have a good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite in particular Indesign, Illustrator and Acrobat. Experience running wide format digital printers, mounting prints on various substrates and finishing/seaming on various banner materials.
Experience with wide format installs and a valid Driver's license would be assets. Experience with Fiery would be nice but not essential.


Responsibilities:

• Work with team members to determine the requirements and Print Shop capabilities for complex jobs to meet the needs of the customer within their time specifications
• Program each job's specifications into appropriate editing software, make adjustments for quality output, load required stock and run print jobs
• Use of colour and b&w digital printers to create highquality print copies from a variety of source files.
• Monitor quality of output
• Finishing including trimming, shrink wrapping, binding, drilling, seaming banners, grommeting, assembling x frames and popup banners
• Laminate on both large and small laminators
• Mount printed products on various substrates
• Pack cartons for delivery and place completed orders in appropriate area for pickup or delivery
• Wide format installations
• Provide a list of supplies that need to be ordered when necessary
• Replenish toner and other printer components to keep operations going efficiently
• Places service calls as needed on equipment
• Maintain a tidy and safe working environment and carry out duties in a safe manner
• Assist in other Print Shop duties as required

This position works closely with all team members and requires extreme organization and attention to detail, excellent communication skills and pride in workmanship.

Salary:
$15.00-$16.00 per hour
