- Reporting to the Director of Contracts and working closely with the President and Directors of Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain, the primary role of the Quotes Specialist is to develop, negotiate and win new business projects. This position is both outwardfacing toward customers and requires close coordination and communication within the company as you will collaborate with all internal teams. *Key responsibilities
- Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations and Finance to obtain cost and operational capacity data;
- Estimate internal and external costs;
- Coordinate with Operations and Planning for capacity and capital equipment decisions related to new programs;
- Directly interface and coordinate with customers for all aspects of a proposal or quotation;
- Presentation of bids and proposals internally and to customers;
- Launch new programs and handoff to internal departments for execution;
- Report regularly to management and executive on status of bids and proposals;
- Develop "should cost" values to assist Supply Chain in negotiation with suppliers;
- Develop pricing structure for manufactured products and special process services;
- Monitor production program marginalities and costs, recommend and coordinate improvement actions with internal departments;
- Work closely with Contract Manager to ensure compliance with all elements of a proposal;
- Develop and maintain internal procedures related to bids and proposals, including tools to improve speed and accuracy of quotes. *Skills in demand
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple duties and projects simultaneously;
- Demonstrated ability for time management, prioritization, working independently and taking initiative;
- Mastery of the Microsoft suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project);
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Infor, Baan, SAP, etc.);
- Comfort in public speaking and presentations;
- Technical postsecondary education preferred, or equivalent experience;
- French and English spoken and written fluently; Italian will be considered an asset.
