The purpose of this position is to properly maintain electrical and mechanical equipment and systems that are located in various buildings operated by Housing Services.

• Assess and prioritize requests for electrical or mechanical repairs/renovations.
• Maintain and repair test fire alarm system, HVAC systems, fire sprinkler, etc
• Repair or replace outdated electrical service/equipment.
• Maintain, repair, test emergency power systems; generators, transfer switches, emergency lighting, etc
• Replace work or defective parts in accordance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Consult with tenants to arrange for most appropriate time for completing work assignments.
• Operate grounds keeping tools – chain saw, shovelling, raking, post hole diggers, etc
• Unload pallets of supplies.
• Assist other trades with assigned duties i.e. plumber/carpenter
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedule for buildings.
• Prepare specifications and tender packages to award tenders.
• Inspect quality of work and provide feedback to contractors.
• Complete estimates of time and materials required for job assignments and record keeping.
• Reconcile purchase requisitions with delivery invoices.
• Other duties as required in the course of building repairs and maintenance
