We are looking for an Scale Operator/ Freight Clerk to join our team in the Goodwood area


Our Scale Operator/ Freight Clerk is adept, demonstrates strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills and works calmly under pressure.

You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and thrive in a client-focused, team-oriented environment.

With the ability to adapt to changing priorities, you are flexible and do not mind taking on extra work to ensure the department is at the highest efficiency level.


Responsibilities will include:

Reporting directly to the Manager, the essential functions of the Scale Operator/ Freight Clerk will include, but are not limited to:

  • Be responsive to day-to-day issues, take a proactive role in improvement initiatives and be a high-performing team player.
  • Receiving load documents from drivers
  • Checking accuracy of paperwork
  • Communication with operations manager for receiving loads
  • Scaling customers cars, truck, and sea containers in and out of yard.
  • Operate a 2 Way radio
  • Preparing daily internal yard drivers logs for operations manager
  • Data Entry of all documents
  • Maintaining and creating Excel spreadsheets for data tracking
  • Maintaining Purchases Spreadsheets
  • General Office Filing
  • Assist with Inventory of Supplies.
  • Working with logistics department with sea container information and weights
  • Keeping the work area clean and organized.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Excellent administrative and communication skills, oral and written.
  • A strong foundation in delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work independently in a demanding and fastpaced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software with a focus on Excel
  • Excellent problemsolving skills with a commonsense approach.
  • Ability to analyze and determine priorities and adjust as circumstances change.
- able to multitask in a fast-past industrial environment in a positive and friendly manner.

  • Highly organized with an ability to prioritize a changing workload.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Logistics experience preferred
