With a population of over 430,000 people and encompassing 237,000 hectares including 70 Gulf Islands, the capital region is a sought after destination known for its mild climate, beautiful coastlines, and natural ecosystems.

The Capital Regional District (CRD) is the regional government for the 13 municipalities and 3 electoral areas in the region that include urban communities such as the City of Victoria, many of the Gulf Islands, a number of rural municipalities, and a vast tract of wilderness that lies along the south-western coast of Vancouver Island.

The CRD conducts its business within the traditional territories of over 20 First Nations, including Songhees, Esquimalt, Tsartlip, Pauquachin, Tsawout, Tseycum, Malahat, Beecher Bay, T'Sou-ke, Pacheedaht, and Penelekut.

All of whom have a long-standing relationship with the land and waters from time immemorial that continues to this day.


The General Manager, Integrated Water Services, is a complex administrative and professional local government role which provides visionary leadership to the diverse functions within the Integrated Water Services Department and the Capital Regional District (CRD), as an organization.

The General Manager is tasked with delivering continuous improvement and excellence in the provision of quality services and programs for the diverse Region.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the General Manager is an integral part of the Executive Leadership Team that guides the CRD and implements the direction of the Board and is responsible for such regional services and programs as:

regional and local utility services, including large and small water and wastewater system management and operations; regional watershed management; infrastructure engineering; and related customer and technical services.
