Position Description:

***: Working as a member of the interdisciplinary team, the Psychologist in the Eating Disorders Program will provide psychological assessment, consultation, diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of clients utilizing both individual and group evidence-based interventions (including CBT, CBTe and DBT). Program development, evaluation and research will also be integral parts of this role. This role also involves the provision of psychological consultation (assessment, brief intervention) to our inpatient medical and surgical units (including ICU and post-acute units) at our Charlton Campus, in collaboration with the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service. This activity would constitute 20% of the role (or the equivalent of one day per week on site), with the remaining 80% of the role spent in the Eating Disorders Program.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Registered or eligible for registration, through the College of Psychologists of Ontario required
  • Ph.
D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited graduate program (or equivalent) required

  • Minimum of one year postdoctoral clinical experience working with youth and adults with an eating disorder
  • Minimum of one year Teaching and supervisory experiences at the undergraduate and graduate level
  • An established track record of academic productivity (e.g., peerreviewed funding, peer reviewed publications, presentations at professional meetings).
  • For the Psychological Consultation portion of the role, declared CPO competencies in the following areas of practice are required for adult patients: i) Clinical Psychology; and ii) Health Psychology or Rehabilitation Psychology.
  • Must have training and experience in CBT and CBTe for eating disorder. Training and experience with DBT preferred.
  • Teaching and supervisory experience at the undergraduate and graduate level
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in treatment, assessment, and research with youth and adults with an eating disorder.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team, to collaborate with community resources and services, and to advocate for the needs of clients.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in clinical research design and analysis.
  • Skills and experience in clinical teaching, education, and research consistent with the requirements for faculty appointment to the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University
  • An established track record of academic productivity (e.g., peerreviewed funding, peer reviewed publications,
presentations at professional meetings).- Demonstrated interpersonal and supervisor skills required for the supervision of students, interns, residents, psychometrists, staff from other healthcare disciplines, and psychologists and/or psychological associates registered for supervised practice by the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills required for assessment reports, scholarly presentations, and scholarly publication.
