Description
Role Purpose
- Ensure all Workplace Safety, Environmental and National Safety Code Policies and Regulations are being adhered to.
- Read diagrams/schematics and manufacturers repair manuals for work procedures.
- Maintain and service a fleet of asphalt, aggregate and construction equipment.
- Able to perform services on electrical, hydraulic, power train, suspension, brake and air systems on aggregate, asphalt & construction equipment.
- Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery parts in a safe manner.
- Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment.
- Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment.
- Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair including computer connection/diagnosis with machine to identify fault codes.
- Provides guidance and instruction to less experienced, or apprentice maintenance personnel.
- Performing hands on maintenance and repairs of all equipment.
- Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic troubles.
- Making repairs per the manufacturers specifications.
- Utilize computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes.
- Suggest positive changes to policy and procedures as required.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Maintain excellent customer relations.
- Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Position Requirements
- 421A Heavy Equipment License an asset
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in equipment and vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Excellent mechanical knowledge
- Heavy lifting required
- Effective interpersonal skills (spoken and written communication)
- High school graduate asset
