Duties and Responsibilities:

System administration responsibilities include support, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, reporting, user account administration and training.

These require maintaining and updating documentation, maintaining and investigating logs, running diagnostics on the various systems, including performance, establishing procedures and protocols.


Reporting to the Supervisor, Educational Technology, the incumbent will act as a liaison to service providers, investigate integrations, updates, and product enhancements and advise management on new developments or updates.


Qualifications:


The incumbent possesses extensive knowledge relating to:

  • Digital Learning Environments, including Learning Management Systems, media management system, and synchronous communication platforms, etc...

The incumbent possesses general knowledge:


  • Student Information Systems (Banner 9)
  • Content management tools like WordPress
The incumbent will have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and evaluate technical issues and be able to explain technical decisions and features to both management and clients
  • Data visualization, interpretation and expertise working with database structure
  • Applications
  • Office 365 Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams etc.)

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a team environment, adapt to changing environments, and possess exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and work under pressure to meet deadlines; excellent time management skills are required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to maintain effective relationships with professional colleagues, users and administrators.
  • Knowledge of the trends and developments in enterprise educational technology systems.
  • Able to work on demand including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, adapt to changing environments, and possess exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and work under pressure to meet deadlines; excellent time management skills are required.
  • Must be able to work on demand including evenings and weekends.

Education and Experience:


The above is normally acquired through:

  • The completion of an honour's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum five years of related direct learning management system experience, preferably in an academic environment.
