Qualifications:

  • Secondary School Diploma required.
  • Red Seal certification or successful completion of at least two Quantity Food Production courses (i.e. Basic and Advanced Small Quality Food Courses from a Community College such as George Brown) or international equivalency required.
  • Current certification in a Public Health endorsed Food Handling Course.
  • Minimum of 1 year proven cooking (e.g. short order cook) experience required.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP controls.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including ability to lift up to 45 lbs., and stand and work for long periods of time.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal in the English language.
  • Attention to detail and problemsolving skills; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively with staff and customers.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Satisfactory attendance record.
