    Position Title: Development Assistant

    Job Type: Full Time – in Office

    Location: Kelowna, BC

    Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 (dependent upon experience)

    Requirements

    Tommy Gun's Support Office is currently seeking an energetic, team-oriented Development Assistant ideally with experience in contracts (legal & leasing) and/or franchise law. Working closely with the franchising, legal, construction and the real estate team, which collectively make the Development Team, you will deliver quality input and materials to one of Canada's leading franchisors.

    Tommy Gun's is rapidly expanding and currently operates over 80 locations in Canada, 13 locations in Australia, 2 in New Zealand and one in the USA as we work our way towards Global DOMINATION With significant growth and expansion planned in North America and abroad, we are looking for a motivated and highly collaborative Development Assistant to join our Development Team in Kelowna, BC. You will work closely with the Development leaders here at Tommy Gun's as we find the right Business Owners to join the Tommy Gun's Family

    Responsibilities and Duties

    Legal:

    • Franchise Agreement/Franchise Disclosure Documents – Work closely with our in-house Corporate Counsel as well as external counsel to collect information required to issue franchise documentation and track same to ensure adherence to franchise law
    • File management including the collection of various corporate records
    • Managing annual corporate returns
    • Assisting Corporate Counsel with various communications to stakeholders; including franchisees, real estate brokers, external lawyers, etc.

    Franchising:

    • CSBFP (Canadian Small Business Finance Program)- become an expert in implementation and adherence to this program while working with the major banks to ensure our Business Owners can secure their financing needs.
    • ICSC/Franchise Shows – Source, Book and coordinate franchising show material and travel for the development team
    • Collect and present candidate qualification data to management team on potential new leads to join the Tommy Gun's franchise system

    Leasing :

    • New Lease entry - Record critical dates and lease information
    • Leasing Support – Assist with tracking and monitoring key projects, strategic plans, location selection, and support for the portfolio
    • Third party management – Liaising with Landlords, Insurance provider, franchisees and Legal
    • New Deal processing – Track condition removal dates, collect information required for construction projects, issue notices and collect allowances
    • Leasing projects – Create Leasing templates, location summaries, sales reporting, assist with department presentations and reconciliations

    In summary, the Development Assistant will play an integral role within the Development Team, allowing each of the departments to operate together to contribute to the continued expansion of new franchise opportunities in North America and beyond. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight into several different areas of operations. We appreciate that you may not have experience in all the areas listed above, but we are happy to train as needed

    Qualifications:

    · 3+ years' experience working in any area of leasing, franchising, or as a legal assistant

    · Background in franchise law or contract management is considered an asset

    · Working knowledge of provincial franchise disclosure legislation is an asset

    · Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office

    · Ability to organize and prioritize competing workloads in a busy environment

    · Exceptional drafting and proofreading skills

    · Excellent written and oral communication skills

    · Strong analytical skills

    · Ability to exercise independent judgment and work independently

    · Excellent interpersonal and client service skills

    · Confident and dependable, with initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented atmosphere
