Material handler / Mechanical Assembler

Location:
Puslinch, Ontario (Near Guelph)


Westpro Contract Services a subsidy of Westpro Machinery Inc
. an innovative Canadian company with an experienced engineering team that designs and manufactures mineral processing equipment worldwide.

The company has an immediate opening for a
Material Handler / Assembler
Dayshift 7:00 to 3:30, Monday to Friday. Overtime available.

This is an interesting position for a capable mechanically minded person, with solid Material Handling expertise.

Material Handler Responsibilities:


  • Receiving and Receiving Inspection
  • Unloading of trucks with forklift or crane
  • Packing and loading of finished product
  • Material Handling
  • Deliver and pickup material and parts in company vehicle (Pickup Truck with Open Trailer)
  • Daily Clean up and Maintenance Duties

Mechanical Assembler Responsibilities:


  • The mechanical assembler will assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts to form subassemblies of industrial machinery
  • Assemble components according to drawings while ensuring bill of material accuracy
  • Responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly by conducting inspection for conformance to drawings and specifications, functional operation and appearance.
  • Perform mechanical adjustments as needed.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Other duties as assigned by Shop Foreman
  • Some heavy lifting required

Experience:


  • Operational knowledge of Dimensional Measuring Tools and Instruments
  • Crane operation and Forklift experience
  • Must be focused on providing a highquality product
  • Have your own Handtools
  • Good working knowledge of Industrial Safety procedures & practices, including safe workplace conduct, safe material handling procedures, safe operation of machinery, and personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:


  • WHMIS Certification
  • Forklift Certification
  • Clean Drivers Abstract
  • Minimum Grade 12 completion.

From $26.00 per hour
