Job Purpose


The QC Turnover Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless transition of completed projects from the fabrication phase to the quality control and turnover process in a timely manner.

This role involves coordinating and overseeing the documentation, inspection, and quality assurance activities required for project turnover.

The QC Turnover Coordinator collaborates with various teams to ensure that all necessary documentation and certifications are in place before the project is handed over to clients or end-users.

Effective coordination, attention to detail, and adherence to quality standards are key to success in this role.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers and quality control teams to gather all relevant project documentation, including fabrication records, inspection reports, material certifications, and testing data
  • Ensure that all required documentation is accurate, complete, and properly organized for submission
  • Work closely with QC inspectors to ensure that all quality control activities have been performed as per project specifications and industry standards
  • Review inspection reports, nonconformance reports, and corrective action plans to ensure that all issues have been addressed before turnover
  • Verify that all required certifications, approvals, and compliance documents (such as ASME and clientspecific requirements) are obtained and in order
  • Collaborate with thirdparty inspectors and certification bodies to ensure that all necessary approvals are obtained
  • Schedule and coordinate final inspections and walkthroughs with clients, thirdparty inspectors, and internal teams to ensure that the project meets all quality and safety requirements
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to address any outstanding issues or discrepancies before final turnover
  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive document control system to track the status of all project documentation, ensuring that all records are up to date and accessible
  • Act as a point of contact for clients during the turnover process, addressing any questions or concerns they may have regarding project documentation, quality, or compliance
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the turnover and documentation coordination process
  • Participate in postproject reviews to gather feedback and insights for enhancing future turnover processes

Requirements:


  • Prior experience in quality control, inspection, or document control within the pipe fabrication industry (2year experience minimum)
  • CSA 178.1 Level 1 Weld Inspector Certification would be an asset
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to pipe fabrication (e.g., ASME B31.3, Z662)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Detailoriented with the ability to review and verify complex documentation
  • Proficiency in document management systems and software
  • Problemsolving skills to address unexpected challenges and discrepancies
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration
  • Proficiency in MS Office including; Excel, Word, and Access are preferred

$37.00-$43.00 per hour
