Your Role
Reporting to the Supervisor, Financial Analysis, the Financial Analyst (FA) is responsible for management reporting, financial analysis and budgeting. The FA is also responsible for performing a variety of financial accounting activities.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Accounting_
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
  • Perform account analysis and reconciliations and posts adjustments / reclassifications as needed
  • Maintain and reconcile schedules for a variety of accounts and reconcile subledger to general ledger account balances
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Post monthly, quarterly and yearend entries and accruals
  • Verify cost allocations according to Firm procedures
  • Assist with the annual external audit
  • Financial Planning and Analysis_
  • Participate in preparation of annual forecasts, budgets and multiyear plans
  • Assist in analyzing and interpreting monthly budget variances with actual results
  • Provide ongoing support to Directors/Managers of administrative support departments; including the preparation of operating budgets
  • Provide information to internal clients relating to statistics, both regular and adhoc basis
  • Contribute to enhancing and developing analysis, models, reports and dashboards by leveraging PowerBI and other reporting tools
  • Other_
  • Respond to Ontario Financial Information Support tickets daily to provide requested financial and statistical information
  • Perform other duties as assigned to continue to meet operational requirements

Required Knowledge and Experience:


  • An accounting degree, coupled with minimum three years' experience in accounting and financial analysis
  • Experience in 3E, PowerBI or Elite Enterprise is an asset
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Sound understanding of GAAP/ASPE
  • Experience analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports, statements and projections
  • Proficiency with computer software programs including MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
