    Facilities Custodian RELIEF - Kelowna, Canada - Regional District Of Central Okanagan

    Description

    Do you have experience cleaning and maintaining office buildings? Are you an independent decision maker who is organized and a self-starter? If so, we want you on our Corporate Services Team

    As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Administration Office of the Regional District of Central Okanagan.

    You will:

    1. Provide maintenance and custodial duties on a daily basis according to a rotating schedule.
    2. Complete inspection of building to identify and complete minor repairs, installations and maintenance. Schedule contracted services to complete:
      • Repairs to desks and other furniture
      • Drywall and paint repairs
      • Replace burned out interior and exterior lighting
      • Minor door hardware, electrical, plumbing and HVAC issues
    3. Complete minor building changes such as:
      • Mount whiteboards, corkboards or other items
      • Secure furniture or other items to walls
    4. Move office furniture, equipment and files.
    5. Recommend maintenance and repair options
    6. Research, recommend, order and pick-up supplies
    7. Provide routine testing, inspection and confirmation of proper functioning of building systems such as fire alarm, emergency lighting, and exterior lighting
    8. Other duties as assigned

    To be successful in this role, you will have completed Grade 12, have 1 year of related work experience, preferably in an office environment and have a custodial and WHMIS certification. You will be able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team setting. You will have excellent communication and problem solving skills and have working knowledge of skills related to building trades and technical proficiency in MS office. A valid BC Driver's License is required.

    This is a relief position, meaning on call as needed. This position works either Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm or 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm and pays an hourly rate of $26.87.
